2D to 3D Conversions is a MBE (Minority Business Enterprise) Certified engineering consulting firm specializing in updating and converting existing two dimensional drawings and assemblies documentation into three dimensional Computer Automated Drawings (CAD) parametric solid models.

Lincoln Smith, Owner/Senior Product Designer and founder of 2D to 3D is a professional designer with 30-plus years progressive and responsible design experience including, 15 years of 3D know how. Lincoln attended Midwestern College in Fort Wayne, Indiana in 1968 and has undergone continuing education to stay within the latest tools and technology. He has had progressive leadership responsibilities for TK Engineering, Union City Trucks, General Electric Company, Magnavox Corporation, BF Goodrich Company and engineering responsibilities with General Motors Corporation, International Harvester, Company and Allied Bendix Corporation. This experience helps to give 2D to 3D Conversions fundamental knowledge of medical instrument design, aerospace design, mechanical engineering practices and much more.

Past Engineering Design and Product Development

• Gas Turbine Packaging and Design (aerospace design).
• Designed and developed medical devices and implants from concept using Unigraphics NX.
• Design of light and heavy-duty auto/truck chassis hardware and components.
• Developed conceptual design layouts and prepared product drawing packages for aerospace electronic equipment including plastics, sheet metal and structural products.
• Performed tolerance studies, form, and fit, function and layouts and assembly drawings, incorporated engineering changes, layouts and detailed parts.
• Provided design and application solutions for AC/DC fractional horsepower motors.
• Designed complete light, medium and heavy-duty trailers from purchasing orders.
